The Ultimate Power Nap?

A scientist at the University of Wisconsin has discovered a way to stimulate brain waves that characterize the deepest stage of sleep.

These brain waves are important to renewing certain functions that occur during sleep such as mood restoring, the ability to learn, think and remember.

A person that is sleep deprived has larger and more numerous slow waves once asleep but they weaken as sleep proceeds, which may signal that the need for sleep is partially satisfied.

Someday it might be possible to use these brainwave stimulations to create a power nap that could give you the benefit of eight hours sleep in just a few hours.

Although time will tell what will happen with this new technology, researchers are hopeful this can be used for an insomnia cure.
